Come Meet Jesus
Matthew 3: 13 -
17
|
|
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John
at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him,
saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But
Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is
fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. When
He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and
behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came
from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Come Home Faith
Mark 4: 35 - 41
|
|
On the same day, when evening had
come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now
when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He
was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm
arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said
to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose
and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the
wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are
you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And
they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that
even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Come and Hear
Luke 8: 4 - 15
|
|
And when a great multitude had
gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by
a parable: “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed,
some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the
birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as
it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And
some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and
choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and
yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He
cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Then His
disciples asked Him, saying, “What does this parable mean?” And
He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables,
that ‘ Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not
understand.’ “Now the parable is this: The seed is the
word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then
the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts,
lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock
are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy;
and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of
temptation fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns
are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with
cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to
maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are
those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart,
keep it and bear fruit with patience."

Come and Eat
John 21: 1 - 14
|
|
After these things Jesus showed
Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way
He showed Himself: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael
of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His
disciples were together. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”
They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and
immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But
when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the
disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them,
“Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to
them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find
some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in
because of the multitude of fish. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus
loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that
it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed
it), and plunged into the sea. But the other disciples came in the
little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred
cubits), dragging the net with fish. Then, as soon as they had come to
land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.
Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”
Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one
hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was
not broken. Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet
none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was
the Lord. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and
likewise the fish. This is now the third time Jesus showed
Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.

Come and Stay
Acts 16: 11 - 15 |
|
Therefore, sailing from Troas, we ran
a straight course to Samothrace, and the next day came to
Neapolis, and from there to Philippi, which is the foremost city of that
part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city for some
days. And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside,
where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the
women who met there. Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us.
She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God.
The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And when
she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If
you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and
stay.” So she persuaded us.
